Rockwell, a.k.a. Kennedy Gordy, is the son of Motown founder Berry Gordy; and brother to Hazel Gordy, Jermaine Jackson's ex-wife. He was born on March 15, 1964.
How did Michael Jackson end up singing background vocals on Rockwell's song? Well, Rockwell was visiting the Jackson Hayvenhurst home and was discussing his upcoming album with the family. Michael, perhaps out of loyalty to Berry Gordy, or perhaps out of pure friendship, offered to do the background vocals for an otherwise inane song, IMO. The rest is HIStory.....
So said then-New York morning announcer Ken "Spider" Webb of WRKS-FM back in 1984. Now, in 2001, how true are these words? :-)
